Final positions set the extreme points that an automatic roller shutter can reach. Accurate adjustment is crucial to prevent damage and ensure the mechanism operates correctly. Incorrectly set final positions might result in excessive pressure on the mechanism, material wear, or even emergency situations.

In this article, we aim to share guidelines on setting the endpoints using the example of an R-series remote-controlled engine from the manufacturer Magnita. For clarity, we've prepared a video demonstration.

The engine has specialized hexagonal openings. The principle of adjustment remains similar for other engine types.

Adjusting the upper position

In our motor, the white-colored hole determines the upper position. To raise the level further, turn it clockwise. When the roller shutter is connected to the power supply, the fabric gradually winds with each turn. To lower the upper position slightly, rotate it counterclockwise. The fabric won't move; you'll need to lower it down using the remote and then raise it back up to the limit.

The ideal setup for the upper position allows visibility of one and a half slats.

Adjusting the lower position

The red-colored hole facilitates setting the lower position. Clockwise rotation lowers it to the extreme lower point. When the engine is on, the roller fabric gently descends until you achieve the desired height. Counterclockwise rotation raises the lower position. To observe changes, raise the fabric and lower it back down to the limit.

Methodology

With slight adjustments, verify the final positions by lowering and raising the roller shutter to ensure it stops at the required height without exceeding limits or leaving gaps. After each adjustment, rigorously check the roller's operation several times to confirm the correctness of the changes made.

Not Recommended

Avoid making multiple turns at once to prevent over-twisting. In the upper position, the fabric may pop out of the guides, while in the lower position, it might hit the floor, causing continuous pressure from the engine and potential breakdowns.

Final positions in protective automatic roller shutters play a pivotal role in ensuring safety and system efficiency. Adjusting these positions is an essential aspect of technical maintenance for optimal roller performance.

Using the information from our article and video, you can independently set the lift and drop height of the roller without requiring specialized skills.

For more complex issues, it's advisable to consult professionals.
